Firebreathing question

Good day, ladies:

I think I am finally doing the firebreathing correctly. My question is: since one should not do this exercise while pregnant or menstruating, is it okay to do it while wearing a pessary or tampon? Thanks.

Saddleup

Hello - new here and a strange celebration

I haven't been lurking that long as I've only just been properly diagnosed with a 'mild' (whatever that means) cystocele. I too am experiencing the roller coaster ride that such a diagnosis entails and my dives are swift and severe. But. I am trying hard to make the most of this situation. It feels somewhat contrived at the moment but hopefully it will feel more instinctive and natural to be making positive changes to my lifestyle son.

coughing and sneezing

I am coming down with my yearly cold and cough. I am so afraid this year that the coughing and sneezing will make my prolapse worse. In fact last year I coughed so hard I wonder if that didn't start some of the downward movement of my bladder. Any suggestions to get through this? Would a tampon or sea sponge help support things better during this time? I can get a cough med from my doctor, but I usually have to take codeine to stop the cough and that makes me so drowsy. If it's not one thing it's another! Thanks, Connie

Posture and breathing

Hi All

I think I have discovered a useful technique for getting into posture.

When you think you are in posture take a slow, deep breath through your nose, down deep into your belly (which should relax your rectus abdominus muscles) then keep breathing in to the point where your chest rises, your thoracic spinal curve straightens out a bit and your shoulders move backwards slightly.

Sea Sponge

So I ordered sea sponge tampons as an alternative to regular tampons (wearing them "dry" makes me worry about TSS) to wear for support when I need a extra boost for the day. I have to say, I was surprised by how big they are!! Then I saw on the brochure that they sell a prolapse-specific size which is even bigger! :-0! Be like putting an english muffin up there, I think! They do squish down a bit to go in . . . we'll see how it goes as a workable solution. Anybody use them? Did you trim them down?

Head Space

I am borrowing this from a comment Louise made on another post regarding how head space is one of the toughest aspects of POP. I agree. My baby boy just discovered how to roll over **joy!** and I HATE that even a nanosecond of thought regarding my bladder intrudes into a moment like that!

Weight Loss?

Has anyone had a significant loss of weight after following a change of diet to help with prolapse? I have cut out preservatives, flavours, colours and other additives (as much as possible)as well as eating less meat and more fibre, more veg etc and I'm having trouble not losing more weight. It seems that all these things clog up the body and once the body is cleaner, the metabolism works more efficiently. What do you think?

Whole Woman on YouTube

Want to let you know that we put a clip of FAFP up on YouTube. Search pelvic organ prolapse or uterine prolapse to find it. There are some others there of interest - if only to see how unfortunate the medical knowledge base is in this area. I will be contacting Samita Pradhan from the Advocacy Project to let them know of this community of women who are getting good results without surgery.

curious about milk supply

In reading a bunch of old and recent threads by the newly postpartum, I've noticed many women mentioning an overabundant milk supply. I myself have struggled with significant oversupply after both babies; I'm curious about this because among women I know in person and on other boards, it doesn't seem to be a very common problem, but here, it seems very common. Or maybe I'm just projecting my own experience onto how I read and the patterns I noticed.
