New Problem

Hi,Christine!

I was diagnosed with cystocele in '04. Fortunately, found your book online at that time, purchased it, and read it with great optimism. Would suggest to everyone that they purchase a copy - invaluable information and suggestions. Have been following advice and was doing wonderfully - until recently. Haven't been able to use a pessary because of sciatica pressure problems - but found a tampon worked well - and Gyn prescribed low-dose estrogen vaginal tablets used 2/week which seemed to help plump up tissues (I'm 64 and postmenopausal), and I did kegels. And, actually, I got to the point that I didn't really need the tampon to be comfortable (although, in retrospect, probably should have used one for support purposes).

Having Another Baby

Hi everyone,

I know that no one can answer this question for me, and I know that it has been asked a million times before, but does having a baby with a "triple-cele" make them worse?

I had my baby boy two years ago and developed a "mild" cystocele. Then I developed a "mild" rectocele and now my uterus a "little" low. The nature of my celes changes constantly. Once my doc proclaimed them all resolved. They sort of come and go. My chief symptom is bladder/urethral irritation in "low-estrogen" points of my cycle.

After doing a lot of research, I've realized that one key factor in the development of my celes may be my genetically loose ligaments/hyper-mobile joints. My skin also shows signs of hyper elasticity/collagen deficiency. All of these things make me a candidate. The big baby and the vacuum extraction did not help!

Does sexual position affect prolapse?

Just wondering if the position you have penetrative sex in affects how you feel afterwards?

thoughts?

Toning exercises

Hi everyone,

I know the exercises in the book are good for stabilising prolapse. My question is: What additional exercises can I safely do to tone my buttocks and thighs which won't make prolapse worse?

Are buttock clenches bad for prolapse?
Also: lying on side, and raising one leg at a time to tone outer thighs - is that bad for prolapse?

If so, what toning exercises can I do?

I'm thinking of buying the DVD; are any of the exercises on that good for toning my pear-shape as well?

Also, I read somewhere on the forums that an updated DVD is being made - when is that likely to be available to buy?

granolamom could use some healing vibes sent her way...

Hi Everyone,

Gmom came down with a very severe UTI that quickly traveled to her kidney. She is very ill and may require a hospital stay if the first round of antibiotics don't knock it down.

Please say a prayer for her!!!

Bikram Yoga, Question for Judy

Judy,

I've read your posts that you're finding Bikram yoga helpful. I did Bikram yoga from 1994 to 2001, then switched to Iyengar. I'm a yoga teacher, specializing in restoratives and have found the restorative forms to be very helpful. I haven't been doing nearly the amount of active yoga as I used to because I know that some poses can be detrimental. I wanted to ask you, do you wear a pessary when you do the Bikram series? Do you do the whole series? Each pose repeated twice? Do you ever find that any of the poses make the celes feel worse? What degree are your celes?

partially collapsed bladder

I have been suffering from extreme pain in and around my bladder and kidneys for the past 3 months. Tests show blood in my urine with no infection. Today I was told that my bladder had partially collapsed but was given no options for treatment. The pain has been so bad I have been on Morphine tablets now for 5 days. Has anyone else had this problem. I can't find anything on it on the net. Help.

SUPPOSITORY

Cut cotton in pieces two inches by four inches. Lay them on top of each other until you have a
small pile about one inch high. Tie a string tightly around the middle and leave one end about ten inches long loosely hanging. A drug store or herbal pharmacy can supply "ichthammol", (a black salve) and vegetable glycerine. Mix two teaspoons of ichthammol and two teaspoons of glycerine together in a cup or small pan. (Use more of this mixture if needed.) Soak the cotton in this mixture thoroughly and insert it into the vagina up to the cervix, leaving the long end of the string hanging out. Wear a heavy cotton cloth or sanitary napkin over the vaginal opening so the mixture will not leak on your bed clothing. Follow this procedure five nights weekly before
