Mae...Bladder Prolapse..V-support

Hi Everyone,

I am not new to this site, but some of you don't know me (as Kit said "we haven't met yet") because I have never introduced myself. I have been following this site on and off, mostly on, for a number of years, but I did not reply to anything until I read a post from Christine about vaginal dryness. I guess at that point, three years into my prolapse, I was finally ready to talk about it. Until that point I think I thought that talking about it made it seem too real.

Scared I have a prolapse

I've only just joined because I gave birth to my second son one week ago and I'm now scared I might have a prolapse.

Obviously I don't know what a prolapse feels like, having never had one, but I'm really scared I have... there is such heaviness in the area and I thought I could feel something iykwim...

I would really love to hear from people what the symptoms of prolapse are and whether this is likely to be a major thing so newly postpartum, etc...

WOW!!! How in the WORLD does that mama do it???

I wonder how she (or if she does??) keep her uterus in shape? That is really amazing!

Happy moms day to you all too ;)

Unassisted Birth vs Midwife assisted birth

Hi everyone,

I'm back and I'm happy to report that I'm soooo much better! I hit the one year postpartum mark on April 9th. There are times when the cervix is way up there and hard to find. I've had to use the splinting method once for the first time in forever (last week) and somehow suctioned the cervix down with me. But recovered within the same day. That was weird! (thats another thread).

More reason's I'm glad I canceled my surgery

I'm so relieved that I canceled my scheduled surgery for a cystocele. My urologist seemed so knowledgeable, but he didn't give me any suggestions for life-style changes that would help my condition. He didn't even seemed concerned when I told him I frequently strained with BMs and did a lot of lifting with my job. I did have the urodynamics test, and even this was a disappointment and probably a waste of time and money. I had the test in the early morning, and it didn't even show a prolapse. Afterward, he joked that it would have been different if I had come in the afternoon....duh!

Christine

Christine, some time back I was reading one of your posts or blog entries and you said something about explaining things again for the millionth time, or something like that. Well, for me, it really helps. I keep learning with each new re-write. For example, it’s only recently that the concept of breath pinning the organs really hit home. I had been doing some breathing exercises so it was just good timing to read that again.

Alemama

Alemama, Hi, I hope you are doing well. I’ve missed being here and ‘talking’ to everyone. Question: Back when you were first discussing your vacuum exercise, I think I remember you also talking about being able to isolate certain muscles, maybe in doing kegals? and doing some kind of rhythmic sequence with them? Do you know what I am referring to? I did a search and was unable to find your posts. Can you refer me back to them? Thanks so much, Kit

Firebreathing/pelvic diaphragm

Upon receiving Christine's book, one of the first topics I wanted to check into was that of Firebreathing, especially after reading here that it, along with mastering the Posture would make a difference in managing my prolapse. Anyway, I come away with two questions that I hope someone can help me with:

Question about 2nd degree cystocele??

I've had a cystocele about 2 years and it is about the same. For the last 2 months, I am always peeing due to this cystocele. Does a cystocele usually cause a person to pee alot? I am going to be getting a pessary in a few weeks which I hope helps. This going back and forth to the bathroom is driving me crazy. How can I control it until I get my pessary? Also, how do I order Christine's book? I am so ready to get back to normal again? How come Dr's think that surgery is the only cure for this? None of them have offered PT or any exercising books to help with this muscle weakness.

Sponge Question

I have been asked a question and I don't know the answer - But am sure someone here will...

Basically she asks if she used the sponge alot - Would or could it damage your POP in any way?

I don't think so as it is so very soft as long as you looked after your sponge well. But figured I would ask if anyone here knows anything...

I use mine a reasonable amount but not all day every day. And haven't noticed any differences in POP or anything. I am very very careful about looking after and keeping the sponge cleansed etc...

So just asking.
