Rectocele operation 12 yrs ago - now failing

I had a rectocele op 12 years ago during my menopause - many years before I found this forum. It was successful at the time, and I had no post op problems. I don't know much about the op, but I know it was done via my vagina rather than via my rectum. However over the years the problems with trying to pass motions have got difficult again.

Hello Surviving 60

I am sorry I took so long to answer your question. I had some bowel taken out because I had some stomach pain and also I nearly fainted. No, I don't have any diverticulitis that I know of. The surgeon was worried I might have an illness I didn't know about. He knows I have prolapse. I am getting some results tomorrow and I will let you know what is wrong. I hope it's just something that's not serious. It might be nothing at all. I still won't have my prolapse "fixed". I am feeling a lot better now. I met a lot of women in hospital who had similar problems to mine.

exercise

Forum:

what exercises can I do for my hips and legs that are safe for a bladder prolapse. I have gained some weight and need to get it off, the holiday food was to good lol . thank you

Very happy with my progress on this path

Down the road, when I can consider myself a longer-term participant, I’ll post in the success stories. For now, I’m reporting with good results so far, and hope for the future.

I asked, in another thread, what you consider your list of most important practices.
At this point, my own list is lining up nicely.

1.I am attentive to the WW posture. It takes continual self-reminders, throughout the day. But these are good opportunities to take a mini-mindfulness break, while I pause, check shoulders, pull chest up, notice lumbar curve. And abdominal breathe.

Squatty Potty

What do you think of the squatty potty that has been recently advertised for ease in bowel movements. Is this in line with what the Whole Women posture recommends?

Best place to start

Hi everyone
I have been pointed in the direction of this website by my midwife. I have a grade 3 cystocele and uterine prolapse - I have decided after lots of online reading that I would like to avoid surgery at all costs. I would like some advice on the best info to purchase - I am on a tight budget but would like to know that if I purchased the online DVD first aid for prolapse if this is going to give me all the information I will need or if I am better getting the basic course for pelvic organ prolapse.
Thanks for your help :)

Rebounding

Forum:

I used to love rebounding...post pregnancy and childbirth days. However, I have been scared to do it again bc of my prolapse. Christine does a bit of jumping on the goddess belly video and it has made me wonder f a bit of rebounding might be ok. I know in the past it really tightened up muscles in my body...could it also tighten up my pelvic floor muscles? It's so good for lymphatic system and always made me feel great. I would love to be able to do this again. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Is it normal for mild rectocele (pressure, discomfort)

I have been to proctologist recently again , but didn't get my answers unfortunately. He diagnosed me mild rectocele (the same was year ago), but said, that all my feelings of pressure and heaviness is due to my stress, that my rictocele is not too bad and usually doesn't bother. I haven't had colonoscopy, just had my rectum examined with rectoscope and that's all. My main concern is if it is normal to feel discomfort, heaviness with mild rectocele. Especially evenings. Sometimes I have feeling that something is going to fall out of my rectum.
